Welcome

The Nottingham Suburban Railway

The Nottingham Suburban Railway was a short railway, which was just over three miles long.  It was located in the eastern suburbs of Nottingham, which is a city in central England.  It ran from Trent Lane Junction on the Great Northern Railway’s Nottingham to Grantham line , at its southern end, to a junction just east of Daybrook Station on the Great Northern Railway’s Derbyshire Extension Railway, sometimes referred to as the Back Line.

This Nottingham  Suburban Railway web site is solely dedicated to this railway.  It will ultimately provide all the available information about this railway’s history, including it’s conception, purpose and demise.  There will also be sections relating to its key personnel, photographs and walks along the line of the railway identifying all the remaining evidence of the line.

This web site will be continually developed and updated with each section being dated so that the reader will be aware when that version  was last revised.
